MOOC on Citation Network Analysis

The first thing you might do when you start your research work is to do the literature review. Usually we read whatever articles come across and if we search with keywords of our domain of interest we may end up in getting thousands of articles. It is not easy to read all these articles in a limited time. Is there any systematic method of identifying the right articles to read? The citation network analysis (CNA) comes handy to trace evolution of your research domain and identifying the milestone articles in the domain. It also provides the current research trends apart from identifying articles of futures impact and knowledge bursts in the area.
Sophisticated Instrumentation and Computation Centre (SICC) of University of Kerala is planning to start a MOOC on Citation Network Analysis shortly. If you are interested please fill in your email id and we will inform you when it starts. This is completely an online course.

In this course we will demonstrate the complete computational procedure to carry out CNA without dwelling much into the underlying mathematics or computer algorithms using freely available tools. It will be useful if you plan to write a review article or write the literature review part of your thesis.
